Rush Lake trek and the Karakoram Ride

through Hunza to Khunerjab Pass.

Rush Lake Trek is the perfect introduction to hiking in the mountains of Pakistan. The lake itself sits at an elevation of 4694mtrs, is one of the worlds highest alpine lakes and the highest in Pakistan. Our trek begins at the village of Hopar, with non technical crossings of Bualtar and Barpu glaciers and a steady ascent to Rush Lake into the Karakoram Ranges, surrounded by alpine meadows with breathtaking views towards K2, Broad peak, Spantik, Malubiting, Miar Peak, Phuparash and Ultar Sar as well as Hisper Glacier. We walk with a trekking pace that allows for proper acclimatisation with plenty of time to enjoy the spectacular scenery.

After the trek we explore the upper Hunza Valley to Khunjerab Pass / China border by your choice of motorcycle or car. The journey follows the iconic Karakoram Highway through scenery of the highest mountain ranges in the world, Himalaya, Karakoram and Hindukush along the old silk route, a region steeped in rich culture and history.

This is an amazing combination of fantastic trekking and a spectacular road journey through the most beautiful locations on the planet.
