Danyor is just out of the city bustle and is the perfect place to base yourself for a couple of days acclimatising to the north and planning your next adventures into the greater Hunza and Skardu regions.

Area 1 - Kashmiri Bazaar is one of the oldest areas of Gilgit city. It is a bustling mix of stalls hugging the Gilgit Bridge road and around the river bank. It is mostly made up of food stalls and has a rich communtiy atosphere. We will vsit the odlest chai shop, have traditional local mamto (dumplings) and soup and wander the small market.
Area 2 - Buddha Rock is set high on a clif line just out of Gilgit city in the area of Baseen. We drive throug hthe back streets of the vilage area and take ashor t walk over the creek and up to the moiuntian edge. This detailed carving is a Chamba style figure, the only othr figure in this style is found in Mulbe Ladakh, known to be in the Boddhisattava style raher than Gandhara art

What do we see - A lovely ride through the village of Danyor, including the small and sweet Mujur Chowk market and quiet back streets as we ascend to the hilltop overlooking GIlgit City. Excellent views across all areas of Gilgit town and along the valleys, - Danyor, Gilgit, Sakwa, Sultanabad and Minawar.

NALTAR Valley

What do we see - we drive out of Gilgit city following the Karakoram Highway until Nomal where we take the rugged moutnain road up into Naltar valley. The road has wonderful views of the surrounding mountian peaks adn follows a fast flowing creek. We take a jeep further past the village to the alpine lakes. There are 3 main lakes at Naltar - Blue Lake, the most famous as well as Strangi Lake, and Bodlok Lake. It is in a beautiful forested area tightly hugged by steep mountains.
How long is the tour - 6 to 8 hours
When can I do this tour - summer months - May to September. In winter the area becomes a ski resort.
How much does it cost - 25000 pkr for 1 person - 2000 pkr per extra person (maximum 3 people)
